Hello, Internet! Welcome back to the Art of Lex Chase. I’m your one and only host, Lex! If you missed the first post, you can find it on over here! To recap a bit, I’m an author with Dreamspinner Press and DSP Publications, but I’m also a digital artist. If you’re looking for custom covers, art for swag, blog tour graphics, logos and branding, I’m your person!
Because Lisa is so kind to let me draw whatever my heart desires, this usually leads me down some dangerous roads. Currently, I’m on a binge watch of Penny Dreadful. Formerly a show on Showtime, it does pretty much what it says on the tin as a penny dreadful. The show takes classic Victorian characters and tosses them in a situation together in Victorian London. Are you a fan of Once Upon A Time? Basically that. But dark, gory, and plenty of sexy time. And Eva Green being a fucking gifted actress.
Penny Dreadful also gives us the loveliness of Harry Treadway as emo dandy Victor Frankenstein. Leading a double life by trying to animate corpses to be his lovers, Victor is….not so great with people. We also get sex on a plate Reeve Carney as the one and only Dorian Gray as seducer extraordinaire with a creepy portrait in his basement. He’s macked on everyone in the cast at least once. (Reeve Carney/Josh Hartnett was pretty much worth the price of admission. Just sayin’.)
So I toooooootally ship me some Dorian/Victor. I don’t care if Tumblr doesn’t say it’s a thing. It’s my jam, dammit!
So presenting the Beautiful, and the Creature Creator.
If you remember last month, I had a sneak peek at a Hannibal piece for the sci-fi/fantasy themed event Hannibal Odyssey. If you never got a look at the final, check it out here on my blog!

Pop culture, comics, anime, and…cannibals?
These are a just a few things that go through Lex Chase’s head at any given moment. As an author, she specializes in stories of action, adventure, and broken yet true love. As an artist, she makes no apologies for drawing Hannibal_s Hannigram all the time.
Writing about boys who put the “massively fun” in massively dysfunctional, and drawing characters with questionable morals, or the precious cinnamon roll with questionable morals, gives her great pleasure. Lex knows everyone has a vice, and she’s willing to put stylus to tablet for yours.
Lex is open to all kinds of commissions from promo art, to swag, to social media graphics, covers, branding, posters, prints, and gifts for fans or yourself!
