This “Scanty Santa” Will Steam Up The Holidays

“‘Well then…’ I clear my throat once. ‘You are a fantastic actor,’ I say, breathless, and emotionally drugged up on Mr. Sexdorable.”– Brittainy C. Cherry

Scanty Santa is my last selection from Dreamspinner’s Advent anthology. This short story just didn’t work well for me. There is an audience for this type of book, I’m just not part of it. I like a little romance and getting to know one another before leaping into bed together.

Evan and Sam live in the same neighborhood. They are both struggling to afford to keep their houses. Evan’s partner left him holding the bag, and he is just hanging on. While Sam is a hard worker, he barely earns enough to keep up with his bills.

Sam and Evan sometimes notice each other while out jogging, but have never spoken. That is until Evan finds Sam stuck on the side of the road with a car that won’t start. Sam is wearing his costume for work… as a stripper. Evan offers to drive Sam to his Christmas Eve job and stay until it finishes, then drive Sam home.

The events of the evening go off track at some point. Evan and Sam give in to their attraction to each other and decide to spend Christmas Eve together instead of being alone and lonely.

There wasn’t a whole lot of plot to this story. What plot there was seemed completely implausible. Like I said, I know some people love this type of story. If you like a lot of sex and very little plot, this will be perfect for you. The stripping scenes were really hot. I just wanted more.

  1. I really liked your review. I felt the same way. I missed a plot. Also, after reading others in the Advent series this one really seemed misplaced.
