Blurb: Sometimes love can be electric, especially if one of the lovers has a special talent.
What happens when one man has such a great talent that the US Government could use his help? A talent that the military could use as a weapon that makes the man frightened and even the Department of Homeland Security finds an interest in the sparks he produces.
One cop from a small town turns to help and protect him and even finds love where this cops [sic]* wasn’t looking for any relationship.

Review: Detective Brian Scott works for a small police department in Perrysburg, Ohio. It seems that high-end drugs and thievery has changed the demands of the small department, but one bust in particular, of local Toledo hoods, brings in some strange government men with a not so good picture of someone they’re after.
When Brian’s shift is over for the night, he hits his favorite bar for a drink, mainly to unwind. He definitely doesn’t want the hassle of what may be a drug buy going down in the bar. But, being a detective, Brian can’t ignore what he sees, so he goes after the man headed to the back door of the bar.
Brian is shocked by what he experiences in the alley: a bright circle of light and, of course, the man who disappeared before his eyes. After what he saw, Brian can’t rest, so he makes it a point to go back to the bar the next night to look for the man. Not only does Brian see the man again, but he also has a plan to divert the government men who have been tailing him.
Don Anton has something the government wants. Him. When Brian finds himself in a bad situation during a drug bust, he’s rescued by none other than his mystery man. Don seems mysterious and suave, and when he and Brian get together they make a special emotional connection—but Don has to go on the run.
Besides the never-ending drug busts that Brain has to deal with, he also has to do everything he can to stay ahead of, and outsmart, the Department of Homeland Security. He has friends he needs to protect, but most of all, he puts his life on the line to protect Don, even though he doesn’t know much about him.
I waited a long time for Shadow of Doubt to be published. The title and cover intrigued me, and H. Beryl did not disappoint. This is the second novel I’ve read by this author, and I am totally hooked on her creativity. Don’s elusiveness and Brian’s easy-going personality really brings the chemistry out between these two. There’s lots of angst in this plot, just in waiting for Don and Brian to meet up. I was really entertained by the intrigue, action and thrill ride of the glimpse of paranormal in the plot. I don’t know if H. Beryl has plans for a sequel, but I would definitely be curious to see what she comes up with.
