At a Glance: A cat, a librarian, and a romance is the recipe for a cute story.

Blurb: Noel is a lonely librarian who spends most of his time working, surfing dating websites to no avail, and hanging out with the cat who shows up on his balcony every night. When he meets Mike, he’s finally found a man who holds his interest. But it soon becomes clear that there’s more to the bird-chasing businessman than what’s on the surface.
Review: This story might be short, but it was definitely cute and well worth the read. Noel is a librarian who is a bit socially awkward. His only friend appears to be a cat that shows up on his balcony. While Noel can’t speak to people very well, he can talk to Buddy just fine. When he meets Mike, he falls for the good-looking businessman only to discover not everything is as it appears with Mike.
Though the plot may not be difficult to figure out, the story was enjoyable to read. Noel is delightfully awkward. As a book nerd who loves cats and has trouble in social situations, I felt for Noel and really related to his experiences. He has wonderful, odd conversations with Buddy whenever he shows up. When he finally meets Mike, he’s painfully awkward. But Mike isn’t exactly the most normal guy either, it seems. He enjoys lounging in the sun and gets distracted by birds.
Overall, though the story was short, it was enjoyable. I liked the dialogue, the pacing, and the characters. If the author were to write another story with Noel and Mike, I would gladly read it to see what happens to them next.
