We’re chuffed to bits to have authors Annika Martin and Joanna Chambers joining us today on the promo tour for their new collaboration, Enemies Like You, a super sexy suspense thriller that I, for one, couldn’t get enough of. I would love to see more of Kit and Will, but for now, enjoy this fun little insider’s look at one of the inspirations for the book.
Welcome, Annika and Kit!
Hi, Annika and Joanna here! We’re here to talk about Enemies Like You – our new and exciting (and hot!) forbidden bodyguard spy romp!
We want to talk about something else very dear to all our hearts too – and, hello! you can drag your minds out of the gutter right now, because we are talking about ART! Honestly, what did you think we were going to say? We are definitely NOT here to talk about hot men in chains being dominated. Not AT ALL!
One of our heroes in Enemies Like You is an artist. For a long time we only had a murky idea of what sort of paintings he created, until we hit on the subject of Prometheus Bound, a Greek Tragedy. There are lots of paintings of that—very realistic and classical. Here, in the words of Will:
The tall, narrow painting takes my breath away. There’s a naked guy lying on his back, chained to a bunch of rocks. His big muscled form strains against his bonds, and his cock lies half-hard against his thigh. He wears the marks of violence on his body—bruises and lash marks—and he looks broken, hopeless. A huge bird, an eagle maybe, perches on him, its razor-sharp talons sinking into the flesh of his belly. The bird’s gaze is a very intent and predatory amber. It reminds me of Kit.
I search the page for information. The painting’s called Prometheus Bound.
Once we’d planted this painting, it took on a life of its own. We began to see Will as Prometheus – this strong, tortured guy all wrapped up in chains. And Kit was the bird – the fierce and ruthless tool of a cruel master.
Those thoughts hugely influenced how we wrote the characters from that point on, as well as how the plot developed, how everything resolved and even our epilogue.
The painting had another consequence too. When we started writing this book, we totally thought all reader eyes would be on Kit, because OMG he is a dazzler and no mistake! But actually, once we had this painting as inspiration, honestly, all we could think about was Will…
Will’s big, strong, naked body STRAINING against his bonds.
Will’s muscles BULGING with effort.
All of Will’s considerable might restrained by the UNFORGIVING SHACKLES so that, even as he twists and bucks, he remains HELPLESS and totally… utterly… EXPOSED!
So, yeah. Art. We um…. love it.
About the Book
They’re dangerous men. Absolute enemies. And totally hot for each other.
Will has never met anyone like Kit. He’s arrogant. Gorgeous. Lethal.
The most expensive bodyguard money can buy. And Will can’t seem to resist him.
A simple command in Kit’s cut-glass accent makes Will want things he’s never wanted, do things he’s never done. Their red-hot chemistry is off the charts.
Just one problem: Will has vowed to kill the billionaire that Kit is hell-bent on protecting.
And Kit has secrets, too—his own reasons for sacrificing his soul, piece by painful piece, to keep one of the worst men on earth alive.
This is a stand-alone contemporary M/M romance.

About the Authors
Joanna Chambers always wanted to write. In between studying, finding a proper grown up job, getting married and having kids, she spent many hours staring at blank sheets of paper and chewing pens. That changed when she rediscovered her love of romance and found her muse. Joanna’s muse likes red wine, coffee and won’t let Joanna clean the house or watch television.
