Today we’re so pleased to welcome author Christine d’Abo to TNA, on the tour for her new novel, Working It, from Riptide Publishing. She’s got some helpful tips to share, and is also offering a giveaway, so be sure to check out the details below.
Hello my name is Christine d’Abo and I’m an erotic romance author of both het and LGBTQ stories. Thank you so much for having me here today, and giving me an opportunity to talk about my upcoming M/M romance novel, WORKING IT.
In WORKING IT, Nolan Carmichael is dealing with trauma from a car accident he’d been involved in years ago. As the mother of two daughters who deal with anxiety on a daily basis, Nolan’s struggle is quite personal. I wanted to not only be true to the challenges that anxiety suffers face, but wanted to add some tips that have helped my own family. There is nothing more upsetting and frustrating for family and friends of someone who is in the middle of an anxiety attack, and you don’t know how to help them.
Most of the tips that I’m sharing below can be found online. If you or someone you know are living with anxiety, I encourage you to seek help. You don’t have to do this alone. If you are suffering from an anxiety attack, you can do the following to help:
- Take a deep breath.
- Accept that you’re anxious.
- Realize that your brain is playing tricks on you.
- Question your thoughts.
- Use a calming visualization.
- Be an observer — without judgment.
- Use positive self-talk.
- Focus on right now.
- Focus on meaningful activities.

About Working It
Nolan Carmichael is getting a fresh start—new career, new company, new life. The only problem is, he liked his old life just fine . . . until an accident robbed him of his health, his job, his self-confidence, and his ability to go out in public without having anxiety attacks.
Zack Anderson has scared away his last four executive assistants. So when he hires Nolan on a whim, he’s not too worried, since Nolan will be gone within the week anyway. Two weeks later, Nolan has made himself indispensable, completely reforming Zack’s schedule, life . . . and libido.
But in a company already torn by internal politics, one wrong step could ruin both their careers. And not only are they working to reopen Ringside Gym, Zack’s retreat when he was a troubled teen, but they also can’t help themselves falling for each other. If only the rest of their lives could go as smoothly as things do when they’re alone together.
