Hello all! Thank you so much for joining me as I celebrate the release of Beware of Geeks Bearing Gifts, my sweet little contemporary romance! Here to give you a few dating tips is Spencer Morgan, brownie baker extraordinaire. Take it away Spencer!
Hello! I’m Spencer Morgan, but my friends call me Spence. I’m not really here to give you dating tips because, well, the last time I successfully dated a guy, pagers were all the rage. So yeah. However, I can use my recent experience with a certain gruff, Cuban SWAT officer to offer a few Do’s and Don’ts.
Do: always have tasty food on hand because toast is the only thing he can cook, and even then you run the risk of ending up with pieces of flat coal and a call to the fire department.
Don’t: assume that because he can drink Cuban coffee five times a day without turning radioactive that the same skills apply to you. The smell is enough to get you wired for the rest of the day.
Do: be aware he will always walk in on you during the most awkward and unexpected situations. It’s like radar.
Don’t: forget to put on pants when baking. See my previous comment on his talent for awkward timing.
Do: remember that his mom can be telepathically summoned. The mere thought or mention of her is enough to get her to call or visit.
Don’t: ignore a phone call from his mother. Not unless you want an army-sized family or actual army officers sent out to find you and rescue you from whatever catastrophe has befallen you as that is the only acceptable reason for having ignored her call.
Do: remember not to eat any breakfast or lunch when his parents are bringing dinner as you’ll be consuming large quantities of delicious food and then given more food once you’ve cleared your plate. You will also have enough leftovers for the week, so make sure you leave room in your fridge.
Don’t: have more than one slice of Tres Leches for dessert unless you’re looking to become diabetic. If you’re already diabetic, walk away slowly. The sight alone may be enough to cause harm. Unless you’re his mom and then somehow your diabetes is afraid of you and one slice is fine.
Do: give him lots of kisses and cuddles, even when he’s being a grump. Especially when he’s being a grump because chances are he’s trying to tell you he’d like you to lavish affection on him, which is pretty much the majority of the time. 🙂
Don’t: assume that because you don’t see him that he can’t see you. He loves appearing out of nowhere, scaring the life out of you, and pretending he was there the whole time. It is however worth the scare when you pout and he makes it all better.
So there you have it. These should help you on your road to romance. Maybe. Keep in mind that I kind of suck at directions and have a habit of getting lost, so you might want a map or GPS. Okay, this analogy’s getting away from me. Thanks for joining me!
Blurb: Julian “Quinn” Quinetro, a gruff, tough Miami SWAT officer, has been injured on the job, and all he’s looking for is a little peace and quiet to recover—difficult to achieve with his large Cuban family. An adventure in picking up his prescriptions puts him in the path of his geeky, brownie-baking neighbor, Spencer Morgan. Spencer sweeps into Quinn’s life like a tropical storm of sunshine and rainbows. Not surprisingly, it’s chaos at first sight. Quinn’s in need of a little tender loving care, and Spencer decides he’s just the man for the job. Their very different lives might clash, but they might also find some common ground—and maybe more.
About the Author: Charlie Cochet is an author by day and artist by night. Always quick to succumb to the whispers of her wayward muse, no star is out of reach when following her passion. From adventurous agents and sexy shifters, to society gentlemen and hardboiled detectives, there’s bound to be plenty of mischief for her heroes to find themselves in, and plenty of romance, too!
Currently residing in Central Florida, Charlie is at the beck and call of a rascally Doxiepoo bent on world domination. When she isn’t writing, she can usually be found reading, drawing, or watching movies. She runs on coffee, thrives on music, and loves to hear from readers.
