Inspiration

My husband’s not a SEAL. But during his twenty-five years in the Navy, he’s worked closely with them at times and is still friends with a couple of them today. We lived on Coronado Island right next to the naval amphibious training base, and my kids played with their kids. When I got the idea for Loving a Warrior, I knew I wanted it to be a little different, a “before they were SEALs” story, and what that might look like from the inside out.

Before I start writing a new book, it always helps if I can find some face-casts for my characters right away. Luckily, I ran across these two before I even wrote the first word. Talk about inspiration!

These guys fight tooth and nail against falling in love—literally—and it was an absolute blast to write. There’s action, a ton of UST, and two stubborn men who’re putting themselves through some of the toughest military training in the world.
