Cover Reveal and Giveaway: Nachos & Hash by Brandon Witt

Thank you so much for stopping by The Novel Approach for the cover reveal of Nachos & Hash, novella one.

There are many reasons I’m excited about the launch of this new series.  One of them is the reason for the entire series…Hamburger Mary’s.  Yes! The restaurant.  The four Mary’s Boys novellas each take place with a different member of the staff of Hamburger Mary’s in Denver, Colorado. Each will be a stand-alone novella and can be read in any order, but, you will see some returning characters in each (and for those of you who enjoyed ManDonna in Under a Sky of Ash, well…you’re gonna be happy).  At its core, Mary’s Boys is the story of wounded people coming together to form a family, imperfections and all.  And, at the same time, finding love.  Nachos & Hash, Mary’s Boys One, is now available for pre-order from Dreamspinner Press.

The Novel Approach has agreed to do the cover reveal for all four of the novellas (all will be out by October 2017) for a very special reason. When we were trying to raise enough money for Eric Arvin when he needed some medical help, I had a offer that for the people who gave $1000, they could be a character in my books.  You met the first two of those characters in Mapping the Forest.  However, when it looked like the goal wasn’t going to be met, The Novel Approach stepped up and bought one of my character spots, then raffled it off on the blog to further help Eric. The winner of that raffle, Pat, is introduced in this story and you will see her in all four novellas.

We are doing two giveaways with this cover reveal.  One person can choose any eBook from my backlist. The other will receive the eBook of Eric Arvin’s Woke Up in a Strange Place (or any other Arvin book, if you already have that one).

Though I never met Eric face to face, he changed my life.

I read Woke Up in a Strange Place and my mind was blown. Up until that point, nearly every gay book I’d read had been a tragedy, each character ending up with AIDS or committing suicide or both. Honestly, I think those stories are important and need to be told, as I touch on both of those themes in my writing.  However, there’s more to a gay man’s life and existence than darkness and struggle.  Eric showed me that, and showed it with beauty, artistic flare, and passion. I’d been struggling to find a publisher for my own writing for nearly a decade, at the time, and I wrote Eric simply to tell him how much I loved his novel. I never dreamed he’d be kind enough to write back. And then he kept writing back, and I confessed I’d written a couple of books and kept getting rejected from traditional publishers. He pushed me to submit to Dreamspinner Press, and now here we are. He and Woke Up in a Strange Place allowed me to achieve my biggest dream. I will never be able to repay his kindness, and will always hold his memory and his writings close to my heart.

  3. The cover is so cute!! And it was a very sad news about Eric Arvin. I hope the drive raised enough money to help with the family with the financial burden of the hospital and funeral cost…

  4. Looks like a fun series.I must admit though, when I saaw it was Hamburger Mary’s I was expecting Waikiki or at least tropical. I suppose Denver gives you the chance for at least one cowboy, and plenty of city slickers.
