Blurb: A relationship-challenged actor unexpectedly finds love in the arms of his childhood best friend.
“Sexiest Man Alive” and Golden Globe-winning actor Ethan Baker lights up the screen but fizzles in his personal life. When his latest girlfriend breaks up with him, Ethan turns to his one “forever” person – Jude Harrison. But as Ethan makes the familiar drive to his best friend’s house, an unexpected detour and a bewildering passenger take him through places in time he’d long forgotten. Suddenly, Ethan sees Jude’s actions over the years from a different perspective, but it’s his own reaction that’s the biggest surprise.
Review: I think that sometimes I really take my reading way too seriously. I like social justice, coming-out, and detective M/M romance, all with serious undertones, and, of course, a HEA. I overlooked Places in Time for a long time, as it only had one of my likes—the HEA. But who cares? It’s fun and a great audio to listen to; I smiled the whole way through. The story has the feel of A Christmas Carol, by Charles Dickens, but only the feel. There are many, many differences, most importantly is that Ginger, the guide, is not like Ebenezer Scrooge’s many guides. Ethan describes his guide as a red haired, freckled and dimpled lady in a flowered dress. Much better….
Places in Time is a funny, sexy short story worth listening to. As an added bonus, Cardeno C.—or Ginger, rather—has a lesson to teach us. Sometimes we all need a good kick in the pants to see what is right in front of our noses!
John Solo as the narrator is great. I love all the voices he uses for the characters, especially Ginger. Spot on! This audio is worth a listen: it will brighten your day, give you a few laugh and maybe give you something to think about.
