Annabelle Jacobs Is Here Today To Talk Torsere And Offer A Giveaway

Firstly, thank you so much for having me on your blog today.

April has been a busy month for me so far. As well as the second book in my Torsere series, Union, being released on the 11th, I also completed the third and final book, Alliance.

The series begins with Capture, where we meet the main characters King Ryneq–the ruler of Torsere, and Nykin–a dragon rider in the king’s army. This first book describes the start of their relationship as they’re captured by their enemies and forced to come up with an elaborate escape plan.

Ryneq is a young king, thrust into leadership by the death of his parents, with only his sister to help him. I wanted him to be strong and commanding, yet at the same time have a slight air of vulnerability underneath it all.

Nykin has only been a dragon rider for a little over a year. He’s brave and loyal, but doesn’t always think about the consequences of his actions. He shares a telepathic link with his bonded dragon, Fimor, and as I began to write the story, Fimor became almost as much of a main character as the others. He’s opinionated, but funny, and would do anything to keep Nykin safe. He was so much fun to write.

When I think of Fimor, I imagine a huge red dragon, fearsome to look at but also beautiful. The dragon Paul Richmond produced for the cover is absolutely perfect.

The story continues in book #2, Union, where the relationship between Nykin and Ryneq develops further and they travel to the elven kingdom of Alel to celebrate the union of the two kingdoms. It concludes with Alliance, which will hopefully be released later this year.

BLURB Capture: Over two hundred years ago, when dragons were hunted for their blood, the King of Torsere offered them sanctuary. In return, the dragons bestowed a magical gift on the King’s people, allowing those born with the mark to become dragon riders and forge a mental connection between dragon and rider.

King Ryneq of Torsere is undeniably attracted to Nykin, a young dragon rider. Ryneq’s sister, Cerylea, encourages him to pursue the relationship. But with the stresses of ruling Torsere, a romantic attachment is low on Ryneq’s list of priorities. Nykin admires the king from afar, but wants more than to warm his bed for a night or two.

Torsere remains under threat from the lowland armies of Rodeth and Athisi. To protect their kingdom, Ryneq and Cerylea intend to form an alliance with the elves through Cerylea’s marriage to elf prince Morkryn. On the road to the wedding, the lowland army attacks the party. Cerylea escapes, but Ryneq is captured and taken to the impenetrable Risvery Castle. In the aftermath, Nykin volunteers for a perilous mission, endangering the lives of him and his dragon. The odds are against him, but Nykin will risk everything for his duty and his king.

BLURB Union: After the defeat of the Lowland Army at Torsere and with King Seran on the run, King Ryneq and his sister, Cerylea, continue their journey to the Elven City of Alel to proceed with the union of the two realms. Fully recovered from his injuries and newly announced as King Ryneq’s Consort, Nykin returns to his duty as a Dragon Rider in the King’s army. He and Ryneq have little opportunity to celebrate their union, but make the most of their time together before leaving for Alel. Since the ambush at Neest River destroyed the main bridge, traveling by ship is the only option. An unusual storm threatens their crossing, making Ryneq wonder if some new magic is rising against them.

As the wedding between Cerylea and the Elven prince Morkryn approaches, the dragons sense a malevolent presence. To protect the young couple’s fragile bond, Nykin and his dragon, Fimor, take to the skies, setting up a patrol along the border of the magical city. But as the evil grows more potent, the enchanted boundary grows weaker. Ryneq and Nykin must combine their strength to protect their people from Seran’s extreme plot for revenge.
